Computational Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics Laboratory (CAHL)

CAHL is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) lab. It is established in the MAE department of GW from August 1st, 2010.

In CAHL, we develop numerical solvers for both incompressible and compressible flows and we solve interdisciplinary problems related to Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Chemical and Biomedical engineering as well as Astrophysics.

Laboratory Mission

1. Educate graduate and undergraduate students with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for solving real world problems

2. Develop advanced CFD algorithms for large-scale computing

3. Bridge CFD with energy related issues

4. Develop numerical methods for fluid-structure interaction
