Tarek El-Ghazawi, Director

Tarek El-Ghazawi is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The George Washington University. Dr. El-Ghazawi's research interests include high-performance computing and computer architectures. He has received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1988. He has published one book, several book chapters and 130 refereed research publications. Dr. El-Ghazawi has led over two dozen sponsored research projects, and his research was supported by close to $10M. His work has been sponsored by NASA, DARPA, NSF, DoD, IBM, SGI, and Microsoft. Dr. El-Ghazawi has received the IBM faculty award in 2004 for his contributions to HPC. He served as a visiting scientist at NASA GSFC and NASA ARC. He is a member of the advisory boards for the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center, and the IEEE task force on cluster computing. He is a senior member of the IEEE. He served in many editorial and conference leadership roles.
